Title of the exhibition: Zbigniew Natkaniec INSTALLATIONS/OBJECTS

Zbigniew Natkaniec works using materials that are close to nature - his installations are built of small wooden elements, tangles of fabrics, and traces of paint. They are composed of "atoms", multiplied modules added to each other, and themselves function as "atoms" whose configurations may change over time - the components are interchangeable between the works, the spatial layout is unstable and open - further segments may be added ad infinitum.

These installations attempt to embrace almost the entirety of the universe with its details, secrets, and antinomies. There emerge reckless juxtapositions of nostalgic utensils with mathematical regularities, metaphysics with constructions suggestive of tawdriness. The elements of the reality switch functions - a chair floats in space as a planet, and the smallest element of the work voices the absolute. Astonishingly, this chaos of details and references manages to achieve in Natkaniec's work a harmonious order.
